Gerry Connolly (D-Va.) announced Monday his cancer has returned and he will step back from his role as the top Democrat on the House Oversight Committee. Democrats knew of Connolly’s esophageal cancer diagnosis but told HuffPost ahead of the vote that they were impressed by his vigor during internal party meetings.
