Wildlife officials are worried wild pigs have become exposed to rodenticide, contaminating the animals and turning their meat and fat blue.

Multiple wild pigs' tissue turned blue in the Monterey County area after pesticide bait exposure, the California Department of Fish and Wildlife said.

In an email to SFGATE, Fish and Wildlife pesticide investigations coordinator Ryan Bourbour said that the trapper observed the wild pigs eating directly from rodenticide bait stations.
