Former Alabama head coach Nick Saban is sold on the potential of five SEC programs as "top-end" teams ahead of the 2025 college football season.

The SEC normally has at least one team representing the conference in the College Football Playoff; last year it was three: the Texas Longhorns, the Tennessee Volunteers, and the Georgia Bulldogs.

While Saban was hosting the Nick’s Kid’s luncheon, Alabama was wrapping up its fifth preseason camp practice, just down the street. The Crimson Tide is scheduled to open the 2025 season Aug. 30, on the road at Florida State.
