Russia's defence ministry said on Monday that the target it hit last week in a strike with a hypersonic Oreshnik missile was a Ukrainian aircraft repair plant, which was disabled.

Russia’s Defense Ministry announced it carried out a precision strike last week using its hypersonic Oreshnik missile, claiming the attack disabled a major Ukrainian aviation repair and drone production facility in the Lviv region.

Andrii Melnyk, Ukraine's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, has said he expects the UN Security Council, convened over large-scale Russian strikes – including the use of the Oreshnik medium-range ballistic missile – to take very firm steps to stop Russian aggression.
