The Washington State Supreme Court has ruled that Seattle police officers who attended the January 2021 rally and protests at the U.S. Capitol can be identified in public court records

The officers who attended the rally had sued to prevent the release of their names and documents relating to an investigation into their activities that day.

P.G. Sittenfeld's convictions were upheld, but experts say the case is far from over. It will likely go to the U.S. Supreme Court.

The Washington Supreme Court has ruled Seattle police officers who attended the Jan. 6, 2021, rally and protests at the U.S. Capitol should be identified in court papers and have not shown that the release of their names through public disclosure will violate their right to privacy.
