On the eve of Game 1 of the World Series between the Dodgers and Blue Jays, Los Angeles pitcher Alex Vesia is away from his team.

Los Angeles Dodgers reliever Alex Vesia is expected to miss the entirety of the World Series after withdrawing from the squad due to personal reasons, manager Dave Roberts said on Friday.

“It's with a heavy heart that we share that Alex Vesia is away from the team as he and his wife Kayla navigate a deeply personal family matter,” the Dodgers organization wrote on Instagram.
