This weekend may be Ottawa's last opportunity to get outside and enjoy unseasonably warm weather before the creeping chill of fall sets in.

As dry weather persists this fall, some residents living in rural Ottawa say the private wells they rely on for water are running empty.

Due to the ongoing drought, rivers across much of the Maritimes are running low and in some communities, wells are going dry.

For the second consecutive day, the unseasonably balmy fall weather in Ottawa has shattered heat records. The temperature reached 29 C by 3 p.m. Monday, and 29.9 C on Sunday.
