The Dallas Cowboys announced the hiring of defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus on Tuesday, confirming reports which emerged on him being the chosen one since Friday, the same day when Brian Schottenheimer was announced as head coach.

The Colts reached the playoffs twice and were a top-10 scoring defense three times in Eberflus’ four seasons as defensive coordinator. Chicago went 14-32 under Eberflus and never had better than the league’s 18th-best scoring defense.

“Former #Bears coach Matt Eberflus is headed to Dallas today for an interview, and as long as all goes well, he’s expected to be named the #Cowboys defensive coordinator, per sources,” Pelissero posted on X. “A big hire for new coach Brian Schottenheimer that should be finalized soon.”
