Learning how to write in cursive could soon become a requirement for Arizona schoolchildren, if revisions proposed by the state school board are accepted.
“It has an e-learning module, and that’s on-demand, evidence-based descriptions on what are effective ways of teaching cursive handwriting,” Datchuk says.
Teachers often have trouble finding enough time in the school day to teach all the expected writing skills, let alone cursive handwriting.
