The file sharing function of Teams uses the online storage of OneDrive and, in the business version, SharePoint Online. You may therefore need to connect to OneDrive first before you can share files.

What you'll now have on your Chromebook is the Microsoft 365 web app installed and ready to use, as well as access to all your OneDrive files from within the Chrome OS Files app.
