Lakers, Mark Walter Get $10B Sale Approval From NBA Owners
The NBA Board of Governors unanimously approved the sale of the Los Angeles Lakers to Mark Walter, according to the league. The deal valued the 17-time NBA champions at $10 billion, the highest control-sale value in the history of team sports.
Bryant began his career with the No. 8 after his high school jersey No. 24 was already occupied by George McCloud when he arrived to the Lakers in 1996. On November 3, 2006, he played in the No. 24 jersey for the first time, scoring 23 points in a win over the Seattle SuperSonics.
