The number of people in hospital in England with flu remains at a record level for this time of year, according to new NHS figures.
The number of flu patients in hospital has risen by 18%, following a 55% increase the week before. The NHS warns "we are nowhere near out of the woods yet".
Most (79%) of NHS trusts in England are treating patients in corridors or makeshift areas in emergency departments including "fit to sit" rooms, X‐ray waiting areas, and in one case a café, finds an investigation published by The BMJ today.
