New Guild, in Austin's West Campus neighborhood, set up the giant community altar at the corner of West 23rd and Nueces. According to an Instagram post from the co-op, anyone can submit a photo to be placed on the altar.

PUEBLO, Colo. (KOAA) — Dia de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is a two-day celebration to honor and remember lost loved ones. Celebrations kicked off Saturday at the Pueblo Riverwalk. A CSU Pueblo historian explained the importance of the holiday, followed by a walking parade with plenty of cultural outfits on display.

Milwaukee students create pet ofrenda for Día de los Muertos
Students from Milwaukee's La Causa Charter School created a pet ofrenda for Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, at the Milwaukee County Zoo.

Honoring and remembering zoo animals that have passed away, the Louisville Zoo hosts Dia de los Muertos celebration.
Sandra Manay built a Día de Muertos ofrenda outside her Hoboken, New Jersey, home to honor her late dog, Yogi. Soon, neighbors joined in, adding photos, flowers and mementos of their own pets. Now, a video of the ofrenda is going viral on TikTok.
