Tropical Storm Melissa lumbered through the Caribbean Sea on Thursday, bringing a risk of dangerous landslides and life-threatening flooding to Jamaica and southern Hispaniola.

Melissa is projected to bring severe flooding to parts of the Caribbean, including Hispaniola and Jamaica, throughout the weekend.

Forecasters warn of up to 10 inches of rainfall, with isolated totals topping a foot across southern Haiti, southern Dominican Republic and eastern Jamaica through Saturday.
