After a two-week hiatus, “Saturday Night Live” returned with a new episode Dec. 6 with host Melissa McCarthy and musical guest Dijon, marking McCarthy’s sixth time hosting, her first since 2017, and Dijon’s “SNL” debut.

Airing Thursday, Dec. 18, the two-hour TV event revisits holiday sketches from throughout the show's 50-year history.

Introduced by actress Candice Bergen, Cher took to the stage dressed from top to tow in black, and backed by Paul Shaffer & The World’s Most Dangerous Band, guitarist G.E. Smith and backing singer Patti Darcy-Jones.
