A local Amazon delivery driver was sent home twice Monday as widespread technical outages disrupted package pickups and deliveries across the region.

The e-commerce giant has launched a new feature on its app called "Add to Delivery," a button that allows customers to add additional items to a delivery for an order that has already been placed.

A problem at Amazon’s cloud computing service disrupted internet use around the world. The outage on Monday took down a broad range of online services, including social media, gaming, food delivery, streaming and financial platforms.

For years, Amazon had an Invitee Program, which lets Prime members share their speedy, complimentary shipping perks to friends and family who don't live at your residential address. In other words, your dad or daughter in college could reap all the rewards of your Prime membership.
