iHeartMedia WLTW (106.7 Lite FM) will officially ring in the holiday season by switching to its annual all-Christmas music format on Friday, Nov. 22, at 5 p.m., dubbing itself “New York’s Christmas Station,” according to a station announcement. The switch will happen five days before Thanksgiving.
Radio Insight reports more than two dozen radio stations have started playing Christmas songs since Nov. 1, the day after Halloween. The New 96.1 (WTSS-FM) in Buffalo flipped to “Your Christmas Station” Saturday, starting with Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” at midnight.
