Vanderbilt Football attempted to schedule an extra game and launched social media campaigns, all in an effort to convince the College Football Playoff committee they deserve a spot in the final 12.

Vanderbilt's team is full of seniors and super seniors, many of whom don't have eligibility left or will be moving on from football. The ReliaQuest Bowl provides them one last chance to play together, as well as a chance to get a historic 11th win. The Commodores had previously never even had a 10-win season before finishing 2025 at 10-2.
