Marine mammal researchers are investigating the cause of death for a humpback whale that washed up on the Jersey Shore Wednesday morning. The dead whale was first spotted floating in the ocean around 7:50 a.m., the Marine Mammal Stranding Center said. About a half-hour later, waves brought the animal onto shore.
