Former Israeli army and intelligence chiefs are calling for an end to the war in Gaza as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu hints at further military action and the government plots its next move

Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed on Monday that a decision has been made for the full occupation of the Gaza Strip, including military operations in areas where hostages are believed to be held.

Israeli defence minister Israel Katz on Tuesday said that Israel must take "all necessary actions" to defeat Hamas, adding that he would present Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu with a new plan to achieve that objective.
