The Detroit Lions have reportedly "reached out" to former Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel about their offensive coordinator vacancy, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Kevin Stefanski is currently one of the hottest names in the NFL coaching market. Following his dismissal from the Cleveland Browns earlier this month, the two-time AP Coach of the Year has been meeting with several teams.

During his time with the Dolphins, McDaniel maximized the talent of several offensive players like Tua Tagovailoa, Tyreek Hill, Aaron Brewer, and Jonnu Smith, who all had their best NFL seasons under the coach. That could be appealing to Atlanta given it already has an offensive core in place with Michael Penix Jr, Bijan Robinson, and Drake London.

The Detroit Lions are actively looking for their next offensive coordinator, and as we type this sentence, they're at five candidates. But the one that Lions fans want more than any of them is former Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel.
