There may be a break in a more than half-century-old cold case after central Minnesota authorities discovered human remains in a car submerged in the Mississippi River.

Investigators believe the human remains are connected to an unsolved 1967 missing person case involving a man named Roy Benn.

Police have confirmed the discovery of human remains in the car found submerged in the Mississippi River near Sartell on Sunday. In an update Wednesday evening, Sartell PD said the remains found in the 1960s Buick sedan pulled from the river near Riverside Avenue is believed to be connected to the case of a man who went missing in 1967.
