Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Sunday launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that he is being controlled by industrialists.

US president Donald Trump called India's prime minister Narendra Modi "a killer" and "tough as hell" during a speech at the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (Apec) summit in South Korea. The president imitated Modi while reflecting on discussions he had with the Indian leader in May, when cross-border attacks escalated with Pakistan.

Prime Minister Modi will seek votes in support of 30 NDA candidates in two districts today. Campaigning for the first phase ends on Tuesday.

The opposition charge will be led by Congress general secretary Priyanka Vadra whose rallies are scheduled in Saharsa and Lakhisarai. Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath also has four rallies lined up in Darbhanga, Muzaffarpur, Saran and Patna.
