Check that water meter number, then take your usual shower, and check that number afterwards. Subtract the smaller number from the larger one and multiply that decimal number times 748.

Homeowners should be able to locate and read their water meter so they can detect waterleaks. To check for leaks, look at the indicator when no one is drawing water.
