Power View also manifested a SharePoint add-in; cobbling all of this together with Office 365 allowed Microsoft to bundle it as a cloud offering, which constituted version 1 of Power BI.

Microsoft consolidates its PowerPivot, Power View, Data Explorer and GeoFlow properties into one self-service, cloud and mobile BI platform, delivered via Office 365.

Power BI brings intuitive data analysis to both the executive level as well as Microsoft Office power users who have a penchant for number crunching, data slicing and dicing, and reporting.

Microsoft also introduced capabilities in Excel, such as Power Pivot and Power View, capable of performing impressive data analyses.
