U.S. President Donald Trump's attacks on what he alleges is South Africa's mistreatment of its white minority are being met with mockery on social media by some white South Africans poking fun at their own privilege.

Rural violence is a huge problem in South Africa that deserves a strong response. But white people are not the only casualties.

Trump directed U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem to take steps to "prioritize humanitarian relief," which includes the admission and resettlement of Afrikaners through the United States Refugee Admissions Program (USRAP) in Friday's executive order.

Trump and his allies have targeted South Africa, promoting the false narrative that white people are being mistreated by the nation’s post-apartheid government.
