Georgia (15-6, 3-5 SEC) pulled away early and South Carolina never led at Stegeman Coliseum. USC fought back to make it close midway through the period, but UGA outscored the Gamecocks 17-5 in the latter portion of the first half and led 35-21 at the break.

It seemed like Wednesday was the night jubilation would break thorough. Instead, Florida’s Will Richard hit a layup with seconds left to give No. 5 Florida a 70-69 win over South Carolina (10-9, 0-6 SEC). It is the first time the Gamecocks have started conference play 0-6 since 2013-14.
South Carolina suffered its eighth-straight loss on Tuesday, losing 71-60 to Georgia in Athens. The Gamecocks (10-11, 0-8 SEC) are now 0-8 in SEC play and will go more than a month without a win since the new year began.
