The Delaware Department of Agriculture announced Nov. 7 that a backyard chicken flock in Kent County tested presumptive positive for bird flu after experiencing a high death rate. The remainder of the flock is being depopulated to prevent the spread of the disease.
In just 22 days, a new avian influenza outbreak has hit 18 farms in Indiana, leading to more than 92,000 chickens and ducks being killed. On Wednesday, the Indiana Board of Animal Health put three more farms under quarantine.
