Sri Lanka continued relief and rescue operations on Sunday with India’s assistance after the catastrophic flooding and landslides caused by the cyclone.

The death toll from severe weather triggered by Cyclone Ditwah in Sri Lanka has risen to 153, while at least 191 people remain missing. The IMD on Sunday issued a red alert for the north Tamil Nadu, Puducherry,

IMD has said that Cyclone Ditwah is very likely to move nearly northwards parallel to North Tamil Nadu-Puducherry coasts during next 24 hours.

The IMD has warned that the cyclone will come within 60 km, 50 km, and 25 km of the Tamil Nadu-Puducherry coastline by midnight today, early morning, and evening of tomorrow, respectively. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is predicted at several places.
