YouTube will pay almost $25 million to settle a lawsuit brought by President Trump for suspending his account — most of which will support a planned White House ballroom.

Alphabet, which owns YouTube, is contributing $22 million toward Trump's White House construction plans as part of a legal settlement.

The $300 million ballroom project at the White House is backed by private donations from major companies and billionaires, including Google and Meta.

A notice of settlement for Trump's lawsuit against YouTube details that $22 million of it will go toward building a new White House ballroom. Trump has touted that the addition will have room for 900 people, and the White House has said it could cost $200 million to build.

After YouTube banned Trump in the wake of Jan. 6, the Republican filed suit. Now he’s been rewarded with an eight-figure settlement.
