KCRA 3 has obtained a draft map that the California Legislature may consider as the state moves ahead with a plan to redraw its congressional lines if Texas moves forward with its redistricting plan.

A spokesperson for Assembly Speaker Robert Rivas said their office is aiming to release possible redrawn maps on Friday.

The plan by California Gov. Gavin Newsom and other Democrats is a response to Texas Republicans’ efforts to give themselves five more House seats in their state.
