Ole Miss was defeated by Miami in the Fiesta Bowl to end its unlikely College Football Playoff run in the semifinals.
To cap a wild finish in which the lead changed hands four times, Ole Miss had a final play at Miami's 35-yard line with five seconds remaining. Quarterback Trinidad Chambliss launched an end-zone heave to De'Zhaun Stribling as time expired, and despite heavy contact by Miami's Ethan O'Connor, no pass interference was called.
Ole Miss is appealing a ruling and remains optimistic about having Chambliss back next season. CBS Sports' Brad Crawford has made several predictions regarding some of the top quarterbacks in the sport. He predicts that Chambliss will receive another year of college eligibility and return to Oxford.
