Families of U.S. service members who live in Afghanistan are stuck in the country and blocked from relocating to the United States due to an executive order issued by President Donald Trump this week.

A Trump administration move to halt a refugee program spilled over into efforts to bring people from Afghanistan to the U.S., some tied to military families.

“Today, I can also report to the American people [as] the first president in decades who’s not leaving ... the US no longer “spending hundreds of millions of dollars a day” on Afghanistan.
