As February draws near, the high school boys basketball season is roughly one month away from the WIAA championships in Tacoma, Yakima and Spokane. Here are the top 25 programs, regardless of classification,

NASHVILLE – The Tennessee Sports Writers Association announced rankings for boys and girls basketball for the 2024-25 season on Monday, with the poll presented by CoachT.com.

After knocking off Belleville, 46-38, last Friday, Dearborn has cracked the Top 25 for the first time this year. The Pioneers are riding a four-game winning streak, and their only losses have come to Ann Arbor Huron and Wayne Memorial –– both ranked teams. A rematch with Wayne looms large on Tuesday.

Not much changed in this week’s N.C. statewide high school basketball rankings. Two new teams joined the boys’ and girls’ polls, which are sponsored by The Charlotte Observer and the News & Observer of Raleigh. Wake Prep Academy, from Wake Forest, is in at No. 10 in the 1A boys’ poll. The Guardians have won 13 straight games.

Michigan State ascended to its highest ranking in the AP Top 25 men's college basketball poll this season on Monday with a move up one spot to No. 7 after another perfect week in Big Ten play. The Spartans went 2-0 on the week with wins over Illinois and Rutgers to improve to 8-0 in conference play.
