While facing Andy Murray, Rafael Nadal, Jannik Sinner, Daniil Medvedev and Alexander Zverev in Indian Wells, Carlos has yet to face Novak in the desert. The five-time champion will seek his first deep run at this event since lifting the most recent trophy in 2016.

Carlos Alcaraz could run into Novak Djokovic in the quarter-final stage in his quest for a rare Indian Wells "three-peat," while defending women's champion Iga Swiatek also faces a tough test, according to the draw released on Monday.

Carlos Alcaraz knows that this phase of the season is very important for him. The former world No.1 – who won the title in Rotterdam in February before being knocked out in the quarterfinals in Doha – has very significant pressure ahead of the Masters 1000 in Indian Wells and Miami.
