Lebanon’s Prime Minister Nawaf Salam has said that Israel has refused to engage in negotiations to end its occupation of Lebanese territory. In an interview with Bloomberg on Thursday, Salam said President Joseph Aoun has offered to start negotiations with Israel to discuss its withdrawal from the five border outposts.
According to the UN, Israeli forces have carried out more than 500 airstrikes in Lebanon over the first 10 months of ceasefire, killing at least 108 civilians, including 16 children. Israel is violating the ceasefire on a near daily basis, officials have said.
