It marked the first time the two-time Australian Open had lost a set in this tournament.

Gauff launched a stunning comeback to force a tiebreak in the first set, before dominating the next two sets to win her second Grand Slam title.

Delray Beach’s Coco Gauff is the first American to win the championship at Roland Garros since Serena Williams in 2015.
