Union Home Minister Amit Shah has officially approved the renaming of Jalalabad, a town in Shahjahanpur district of Uttar Pradesh, to Parshurampuri.

In a letter to the state chief secretary, the Ministry of Home Affairs has given its no objection on the proposal by the state government sent on June 27, 2025.
