The deep gluteal space is a small but crucial area beneath the gluteus maximus where multiple structures pass and it is often where sciatic nerve irritation or “deep gluteal syndrome” can develop. When this space becomes compressed, overloaded, or fibrotic, the sciatic nerve can become sensitised leading to deep buttock pain, radiating leg symptoms, and difficulty sitting for long periods. 💡 Key points: • The sc
