Pinkenba Queensland Boating and Fisheries Patrol (QBFP) officers were conducting surveillance and inspections on recreational fishers in the district when they observed 3 fishers hooking crabs in the mangroves off Nudgee beach. Selected areas of Nudgee Beach are a marine national park and are closed to all forms of fishing or collection. An inspection revealed the fishers had taken 4 female mud crabs, 2 undersized male crabs, 11 mud crab claws separated from the body and 3 crab hooks. The unlawf
