On this date 93 years ago, on December 3, 1927, versatile Country star Ferlin Husky was born in Flat River, Missouri. His 1956 single "Gone" helped establish the Nashville Sound. He is also remembered for the gospel-themed hit "Wings of a Dove". His alter ego, Simon Crum, recorded rockabilly and novelty songs. Ferlin was an actor as well, starring in several movies. Ferlin entered the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2010. He passed away a year later on March 17, 2011. | GatorRock
