Orlando Fire Department to try for accreditation again after revocation

Christmas came early at the Clarksdale Fire Department. For more than 15 years, our firefighters had been sleeping on worn, outdated mattresses. After personally visiting all three fire stations, Mayor Orlando W. Paden made it clear that this was unacceptable and took immediate action. He brought the issue before the Board of Commissioners, and they unanimously approved the purchase of new mattresses for all three stations, delivering the first bedding upgrade in 15 years.
