This is a sculptural vessel from Dale Chihuly’s Macchia series, which began when he was inspired one day to use all 300 colors in the hot shop. For these pieces, he often used one vibrant color for the interior, another color for the exterior, and a contrasting color for the lip of the vessel, then additional colors were added to the exterior, layer upon layer.
