The General Court Martial has resumed operations today after more than a year’s suspension following Supreme Court directives in January 2025 to halt trials, implement reforms, and appoint members on recommendations from the Judicial Service Commission. Brigadier Richard Tukachungurwa now leads the restructured court, which has been reduced to a three-member panel and barred from trying civilians or non-military offenses.
