It kicks off with the so-called „Weiberfastnacht“ or „Schmutziger Donnerstag“ on Thursday and is followed by a long weekend. The big highlight is on Monday – the so-called „Rosenmontag“. At this day the big parades take place and in cities like Cologne and Mainz everybody is partying on the streets. ❄️ However, German carnival is not like carnival
