The Lockheed Air Express, the second-ever aircraft designed by Lockheed Aircraft Company in 1927, could seat four passengers - or three passengers and a lion. Meet "Gilmore the Flying Lion," who took flight in April 1930. Gilmore flew for 8 months before growing too big.
